Premium Sausage in Seven Persons on my way to Bow Island to visit my Grandma. I worked there when I was 17 and all I have to do is walk in and inhale deeply and I can remember everything about that time of my life: My friend and I comparing our exercise routines, (I was running 5 days a week in preparation for fencing camp), the guy I was dating, the music I was listening too, everything. I picked up some smokies for the kids and pork jerky for Mike. When I started working at Premium Sausage I was practically a vegetarian, I'm not sure why, but I had gone off meat. After about a month working there I couldn't stop eating it! I guess when you see the quality of the product and the way that it's prepared, it doesn't seem so bad anymore.
Once I got to Bow Island we swung by the Rolling Pin Bakery to pick up doughnuts, the raspberry creme filled are my current favourite. We love to have lunch there as well. The Rolling Pin was a selling point to my kids when we told them we were moving to Medicine Hat. My oldest daughter asked if we could eat there more often if we lived in the Hat and I agreed. Actually, her exact question was, "Can we go to that doughnut place that has the giant pickles if we live in Medicine Hat?". Their cheeseburgers and roasted potatoes with dipping sauce are my regular order, although I also enjoy the broccoli cheese soup.
We spent a leisurely afternoon at my Grandma's and my oldest fought the drifts to do some tobogganing down the hill in the backyard.
